Terms of service

These terms govern your use of the Skinmetric app and this website (together, the "Service"), operated by aqx.llc ("we", "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these terms.

Eligibility

The Service is for users 18 and older only. By using it, you confirm you're at least 18. We don't knowingly offer the Service to anyone younger.

What the Service is (and isn't)

Skinmetric provides guided face-scan capture, AI cosmetic analysis, and a longitudinal record of your own appearance metrics over time. It uses appearance/cosmetic language only (for example, hydration index, texture uniformity, visible redness) and is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Nothing in the Service is a substitute for professional medical or dermatological care — talk to a licensed clinician for any medical concern.

Every metric the Service shows is a change relative to your own baseline. The Service does not produce absolute scores, ratings, percentiles, or comparisons to any other person or population.

Your account

You may use core scanning features anonymously on-device. An account (Sign in with Apple, Google, or email) is only required at the payment step, so a purchase is never orphaned across devices. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.

Subscriptions, trial, and billing

Stated plainly, with no fine-print surprises (we don't do manufactured urgency or fake countdowns):

  • Pro annual — $59.99/year (about $5.00/month), 7-day trial.
  • Pro monthly — $12.99/month, 7-day trial.
  • Both plans start with a 7-day trial; your payment method is charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. Cancel any time from your App Store or Google Play account settings — cancelling stops future renewals but doesn't refund the current period.
  • There is no weekly plan, and there never will be — a deliberate choice, not an oversight.
  • Prices are billed and processed by the App Store or Google Play, per your platform's own terms.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to analyze photos of anyone other than yourself without their consent.
  • Attempt to circumvent the Service's quota, security, or consent mechanisms.
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that infringes anyone else's rights.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or resell the Service or its outputs.

Your content

Photos you capture stay yours. Under our privacy policy, originals never leave your device by default; you grant us only the limited, transient right to process a normalized crop for the analysis you request, and (if you opt in) to store an encrypted backup you control the key to.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is." Appearance metrics are estimates from an AI model and may be imprecise; we don't guarantee any particular result, outcome, or accuracy. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of any kind, express or implied, and are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the in-app Privacy Center — Delete Everything permanently removes your account and every server-side record, then erases the local photo store on your device. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these terms.

Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
